Lodmel, who has worked in nursing services at HRMC for more than 52 years, was nominated by coworkers to receive the honor. According to nominating coworkers, “Linda anticipates patient needs promoting the comfort and well-being of the people HRMC serves.”
“She brings a great attitude for the work she does considering no task too medial nor too great,” according to the nomination. “Linda takes an active role in the healthcare team, lending a hand whenever there is an opportunity and always showing respect for patients and team members.”
HRMC’s Exceptional Employee of the Month award recognizes an employee who goes above and beyond to exceed expectations. Employees can be nominated by other employees or by a patient or visitor who witnesses exceptional service. A committee of employees from various hospital departments chooses the employee on a monthly basis and an Exceptional Employee of the Year is chosen at year-end from the 12 monthly honorees.
As July exceptional employee, Lodmel received a reception with family, friends and coworkers, a meal certificate to a local restaurant, a professional photo session and portrait, $50, a lapel pin and a special parking place for a month.
Lodmel earned a associate degree in nursing from Huron University School of Nursing. She began her career at HRMC as a nurses aide in 1958. She and her husband, Floyd, live in Huron and have five grown children: Everett (Debbie) Lodmel, Lori Liebing, Melissa Heinen, Rita (Tom) Baszler, all of Huron; and Randy Lodmel, deceased. They also have 13 grandchildren and one great grandchild. In her spare time, Lodmel enjoys gardening, spending time with her grandchildren and collecting figurines of wolves and clowns.
Patients or visitors can nominate an exceptional employee by calling 353-6539 for a nomination form or via e-mail at hr@huronregional.org.
