Huron Regional Medical Center provide a variety of breast health and breast cancer services to Huron and the surrounding seven-county area. HRMC's state-of-the art full field digital mammography with computer aided detection – is a powerful tool in the detection and fight against breast cancer. Our certified mammography technicians provide education on self-breast exams and annual reminders for mammograms.
In addition to the medical imaging services, HRMC provides outreach education at various health fair events and speaking engagements on the importance of early detection. The Huron Area Breast Cancer support group provides access to educational materials, books, CDs, DVDs, scarves and hats, as well as support from other survivors.
HRMC also provides diagnostic and treatment of breast cancer including open biopsy, stereotactic biopsy and sentinol node biopsy, lumpectomy, mastetomy, breast reconstruction and chemotherapy. Our trained surgeons specialize in spending ample time with the patient to help her to understand all of the treatment options available and what options are best for her.
A visiting oncologist reduces the need for patients to travel for follow up consultations. Our chemotherapy staff undergoes ongoing training and provides a caring, encouraging environment for patients to receive treatment, education and support.
